Gibraltar’s business and public sectors came together at the Sunborn Hotel to recognise organisations going above and beyond in supporting employee mental wellbeing. The GibSams Wellbeing at Work Awards 2025, celebrated forward-thinking employers committed to fostering positive, mentally healthy workplaces.
The annual awards are a key part of GibSams’ mission to reduce the stigma around mental health and encourage open conversations, especially in the workplace. Now in its sixth year, the event has grown to become a central part of Gibraltar’s wellbeing calendar. The 2025 ceremony featured a packed program including the keynote speaker Jon Alexander, panel discussions with local business owners, and breakout sessions led by local practitioners, offering inspiration and practical ideas for building better, more compassionate workplaces.
Award Winners: Recognising Excellence in Five Categories
This year’s awards were divided into five categories based on company size and sector, ensuring a fair and diverse representation of local organisations. Winners were selected for their outstanding initiatives, cultural change, and sustained commitment to wellbeing.
- Company with 200+ Employees: MH Bland Group of Companies
MH Bland took top honours in the largest employer category, with judges commending the company for its comprehensive approach to mental health. Their initiatives included wellbeing committees, mental health first aid training, and efforts to embed wellbeing into their corporate culture. - Company with 100–200 Employees: Trusted Novus Bank
Trusted Novus Bank impressed the panel with its holistic and proactive approach. The bank’s programs highlighted leadership engagement, psychological safety, and flexible work practices, reinforcing the importance of mental health support in high-performance environments. - Company with 50–100 Employees: EY Limited
EY demonstrated how global firms can translate wellbeing goals into local impact. Their Gibraltar office delivered tailored mental health programs, wellness events, and regular feedback loops that encouraged open communication and team support. - Company with Under 50 Employees: Cornwalls Lane
This boutique-sized business showed that size is no barrier to impact. Cornwalls Lane was praised for fostering a close-knit, caring work culture, where employee voices shape policy and wellbeing is woven into day-to-day operations. - Public Sector, Charities & NGOs: The Care Agency
As a frontline service provider, The Care Agency plays a critical role in Gibraltar’s social support systems. Their award recognised efforts to protect staff wellbeing under high-pressure conditions, offering mental health training, peer support networks, and leadership-driven initiatives.

Each winner demonstrated that with intention and creativity, any organisation can make wellbeing a strategic priority. The 2025 awards showed a clear shift: mental health is no longer a “nice to have” – it’s a necessity for sustainable success.
